Maeda Atsuko’s graduation concert on August 27th at AKB48 Theater in Akihabara will stream live via the group’s Google+ and YouTube accounts. The broadcast will start at 6:00 pm JST.
AKB48 Theater opened back in December of 2005 and it only seats 250 people. Maeda’s graduation concert received 229,066 applications, setting a record high in the theater’s history. Due to the high demand, it was decided that the performance will be streamed live through Google+ and YouTube.
Starting on August 21st, fans will have the opportunity to use their Google+ accounts to send a personal messages to Maeda. When you submit a message via your Google+ account (registration required) with the hashtag “#maeda0827“, a flower petal-shaped confetti printed with your message and profile name will fall onto the stage during the show.
Additionally, using the Google+ event function, AKB48 is collecting photos of fans around the world to create a “graduation album” for Maeda.
